What is deregulation?

Until this time, consumers had their supply and delivery of natural gas and electricity handled by a single company known as the Local Distribution Company (LDC). They had no ability to choose a supplier or a pricing plan that fit their needs. Deregulation allows competition, so that you can buy natural gas and electricity at a competitive price from the supplier of your choice.

Will I save money if I sign up with Gateway for natural gas or electricity?
Gas and electricity prices can be very volatile. Historically, our variable-price product has been competitive with the utility. But you are not guaranteed savings. Future savings depend on the direction of commodity prices. Our fixed-rate and price-protection plans offer stability and protection from rising energy costs.
